How this site makes money

The short version

Cart & Coupe is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

If you click a buy link on this site and purchase something, we may earn a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket.

How the links work

Every outbound product link on this site passes through /go/, a redirect on our own domain that applies our Amazon Associates tag and then sends you on to the retailer. It exists for two reasons: it lets us count buy-clicks per page so we know which advice is useful, and it means a link destination can be updated in one place rather than in fifty articles.

Every affiliate link carries rel="sponsored nofollow", opens in a new tab, and is marked #ad beside the button. A disclosure line appears above the first affiliate link on every page that has one, not just here and not just in the footer.

Amazon is currently the only merchant we earn from. Where we link to another retailer — because they genuinely stock something Amazon does not, for instance — that link is untagged and earns us nothing, and the page says so.

What we do not accept

• No sponsored placements. No brand has ever paid to appear on this site, in any position.
• No free products. We do not accept review samples. We also do not test products, so there would be nothing to do with them — see how we pick.
• No paid rankings. Position in a roundup is decided by published specifications, never by commission rate.
• No copy approval. No brand has previewed, edited or approved anything published here.

Why commission does not change a pick

Commission rates in this category are broadly similar across the products we cover, so there is rarely a financial reason to prefer one over another. But the honest answer is structural rather than incidental: our picks are chosen by published specification against a stated set of criteria, in a stated order, on the how we pick page. If a pick did not follow those criteria you would be able to see it.

Where a reader is genuinely better served elsewhere, we say so and link there anyway without earning anything. That is the only version of this that works — a site that recommends the wrong cart for a commission has one good quarter and no readers after it.

Prices

Prices on this site render from a live data layer or not at all. When no live price is available the button reads "Check price on Amazon" and no number appears. We do not publish remembered, cached or estimated prices, because prices in this category move weekly and a stale one is worse than none — you act on it.
